We believe that nuclear
power has the potential
to make an important
contribution to meeting
the challenges of
affordability and
security of energy
supply for the world while
also tackling the global
threat of climate
change.
This is why we are
playing a leading role
in developing the next
generation of new
nuclear power stations alongside our
ongoing investment in
renewable,
decentralized energy,
cleaner fossil, gas
storage and energy
efficiency.
Cost of capital can be
driven by a wide variety
of factors including the
state of interest rates
around the world, but
typically, governmental
regulation of nuclear
energy has heavily
influenced the
availability and pricing
of capital for nuclear
energy projects. This
includes at one time
heavy subsidies for
nuclear power and more
recently, strong
restrictions on nuclear
energy development. |
